Brogborogh Lagoon is an old London Brick Company lake which was dug out in the 70’s for clay to make bricks at the nearby brickworks in Stewartby. The Lagoon sits next to its Daddy lake Brogborogh Pit and has been owned by Ampthill Angling Club for the last 30+ years. Originally used as a stock pond but later opened in the 80’s for general angling. The lake is stocked with huge shoals of Rudd, Roach & Tench. Carp are stocked, many being the old originals with new stock being added within the last 5 years and more recently stocked with Barbel, Chubb & Bream.
The lake has 14 permenant pegs which are wooden platform style and with great access to each peg via the newly laid track, all pegs are accessable from the car park using the slope which allows trolleys to be used. The lake is generally 6-8ft with the odd hole going slightly deeper.
The lake is a general fishery and is sometimes used for matches and lots of junior matches which often produces bags of up to 20lb of silver fish. Although this is a small lake, its a great place to hone youngsters skills in the art of fishing and also a great specimen lake for the carp.
