1. Two Committee Members (or one Committee Member plus one Auxiliary Steward) shall act as Stewards at each fixture.
2. Their duties to be as follows: – (a) To peg Out swims at least 15 yards apart (where possible); that there he sufficient water to place keep-nets, conduct the draw for swims; acceptance of match fees; record weights, details of matches, and points won (b) The Stewards in charge to care for the match scales whilst in their keeping; they will ensure the accuracy and see that they are made available to the next Match Stewards In the event of non-attendance they must do all in their power to arrange a replacement Steward.
3. Competitors shall make ONE draw only, they may not change their peg with another competitor, they must proceed to their peg and on no account are they allowed to move its they must not ground-bait the swim or disturb the water except to place a keep-net, rod-rest, wet ground-bait or plumb the depth before start signal.
4. Every Competitor shall fish within ONE yard of his peg On still water his boundary is half-way between his peg and the pegs on either side of him. On flowing water he shall limit his fishing from his peg in the direction of the flow to the next peg. If anglers are fishing far bank, limit is mid-way between banks. Competitors are restricted to these boundaries and they shall not encroach on a neighbour’s swim with their person, their tackle, baits or ground-bait In the event of a complaint a new peg may be allocated at the discretion of the Stewards in charge.
5. Competitors are confined strictly to ONE rod, ONE hook and line at any one time but may have other rods tackled up behind them, provided that no such tackle is baited. No live or dead fish, or spinning bait, or artificial lures (pike matches excepted) shall be allowed. Competitors must play and land their own fish.
6. Competitors will cease fishing when the cease signal is sounded 15 minutes will be allowed to land a fish booked BEFORE the cease signal. All fish caught in competitions must be kept in keep-nets (8ft in length x 15ins. circular, or 15ins. x 10ins rectangular, minimum size) and released immediately by scalesman after being weighed in. No competitor may leave his line in the water unattended during a competition A minimum of two nets to be used at all times with a maximum of 60lb in any net. Any net weighing over 60lb will be disqualified
7. At the end of a Competition the scales must be taken to the Competitors peg for weighing his fish; fish must not be taken to a central point for this purpose Any Competitor leaving his peg to fish elsewhere will be disqualified. Competitors misconducting themselves or annoying other Competitors, or breaking Competition rules during a match will be disqualified. No Competitor shall be weighed in who has LITTER at his peg.
8. In Pike matches TWO rods may be used at the same time. No live fish may be taken to the match.
9. The duration of Club matches will be printed in Club cards. If a deviation is necessary the Stewards in charge must inform Competitors before starting match.
10. Inter-Club matches shall be determined by a total of their top TEN weights in order to decide the winning team.
11. The peg fee for all Club Competitions and inter-Club competitions shall be £1.00, which shall be held in Club funds for match expenses. Junior Members entering adult matches shall pay 10p, entry fee Match Stewards shall hand all entry fees to the Match Secretary as soon as possible after each Competition there will be an optional sweepstake arranged.
12. Club Championship points and Team Selection.
(a) Club Championship points and Angling Trust points shall he awarded as follows the winner of each match -25 points; 2nd place -24 points; 3rd place -23 points, etc. In the event of a tie for any place each of the two tied Competitors will receive the same number of points and the immediate following place will be missed from the sequence i.e. Joint Ist place -25 points; 3rd. place -23 points. The Club Champion shall be the Member having the highest aggregate of points attained from 75 per cent of the points matches on the Club fixture list each season.
(b) Team selections ; the team(s) to represent the Club in representative matches shall be determined as follows; any Member wishing to qualify for inclusion in any of the Club’s Teams under the conditions set out in this paragraph and paragraphs (c) and (d) following, shall indicate his or her wish by completing the nomination form available from the Match Secretary. The completed form for the current season together with #1.50 registration fee must be handed to the Match Secretary not later than 30th August each season. The revenue so collected shall be used to assist with team expenses.
(c) Angling Trust Competitions, The Team to represent the club in these competitions shall be determined from the previous season’s Angling Trust points results as follows; The top eight automatically fish by right, the next tour to be selected by the Club Captain, Match Secretary and Assistant Match Secretary Angling Trust qualifying points fishable over ten selected matches.
(d) The Team(s) to represent the Club in any other competitions shall be selected from the list of nominees held by the Match Secretary providing that nominees have fished at least 50 per cent of the Club’s points matches in the previous season In the event of reserves being required to fish in any of these Club’s Teams the Match Secretary shall be empowered to select any other Member.
13. In junior matches, competitors may be given advice and also sonic assistance in removing hooks so that fish are not handled carelessly or unnecessarily
14. Any pensioner, disabled or partially disabled angler shall be permitted assistance to his or her peg if permission is requested of the Steward before leaving the draw area. This shall apply to both Club and open matches promoted by the Club.
15. In the event of no fish being weighed in at a Club Match, all pools monies will be returned to every angler who had paid in at draw, regardless if present or not at the end of the match.
